(available as an arcgis online feature service as well)</SPAN></P></LI></OL><P><SPAN>The above input data were processed as follows:</SPAN></P><UL><LI><P><SPAN>Polygons in ESRI nuts3 not covered by eurostat version were appended into it</SPAN></P></LI><LI><P><SPAN>Topology was enforced (no gaps, no overlaps) in the resulting feature class from previous point. Topological errors were resolved preserving the geometry of gisco-Eurostat version as much as possible</SPAN></P></LI><LI><P><SPAN>Attribute hierarchy (Nuts 2, Nuts 1, Nuts 0) was built by parsing nuts 3 codes taking into account that UKN0 contains violations to the applied rule</SPAN></P></LI><LI><P><SPAN>Attribute hierarchy was then used to obtain geometries for Nuts 2-1-0 by dissolving the previous feature class of nuts 3</SPAN></P></LI><LI><P><SPAN>Administrative areas at all level were then appended into a final feature class to mimic the original gisco version</SPAN></P></LI></UL></DIV></DIV></DIV>
